In 2001, Tima was nominated for a SAMA Award (South African Music Awards) for “Best Dance Single” for her hit song, “Crazy ‘Bout You”.

In 2005, Tima was nominated for a second SAMA Award for “Best Pop Album” for her début album, “My Body’s Crying” which was televised in April 2005.

In 2003, Tima teamed up with 101 pop star, Kurt Herman and produced their own show called “Versus”. The show featured hit songs by Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Aaliyah, Usher, and many other International names currently on the music scene. This show toured Cape Town between December 2003 and January 2004 proving to be a huge hit.

In 2008, Tima performed in Sun City as the lead female role in the successful Rock Musical Production, “Let There Be Rock” under the direction of Ivor Jones. She also signed with International Music Publishing House, EMI Music Publishing, as a singer / songwriter. She is currently writing and producing songs with American based producers.

In 2008 – 2009, Tima headlined as the lead female in the 10th Anniversary Celebration Show called “Jubilee” in Emperor’s Palace. The show received great reviews by the press and was extremely well attended by the public for the entire run of the six-month production.

Tima has been a part of the South African Idols Band since 2007. She will be teaming up with Johan Laas who is the Idols band’s Musical Director for the forth time in July 2011 for the 7th season of South African Idols.

From November 2009 to Jan 2010, Tima performed in a Rock Themed show at Carnival City called “Rock 2 The Beat” along side Kurt Herman and Alison Pucci. A second run of “Rock 2 The Beat” commenced at Emperors Palace under a new name called “Adrenalin” from the 9th of April until the 31st of July 2010.

In 2002, during her four-month recording period in New York with ‘Strictly Rhythm’, Tima spent time writing with many influential names such as Calvin Gaines, Mark Wilson, Mike Mason, and Marc Dorsey. These people wrote and produced albums for Destiny’s Child, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, 112 and Tevin Campbell.

In 2004, Tia performed at Caesars Gauteng for two shows called “Ovation” and “Broadway” where she combined her vocal abilities with dancing skills.
Tima Reece is a highly talented South African singer and performer, whose skill and accomplishment in the performing arts industry is already widely recognised both locally and internationally. Tima's musical flair and passion for her craft bode extremely well for the future and prospects in the world of international pop music.
