After excelling at drama in his matric year, Kurt’s passion for theatre led to his enrolment in Dramatic Studies at the University of Cape Town in 1997. Inevitably, his talent was soon noticed and he was offered the coveted lead role in the acclaimed hit musical “Kat and the Kings”. After extensive local performances “Kat” went on tour to Europe and the United Kingdom, where it played to full houses for three years. Impressively, “Kat” went on to win the Laurence Olivier Award for “Best Musical” and the “Best Actors in a Musical” award in 2000.

Selected from 8000 contestants in the Coca Cola Pop Stars’ competition to form the pop group “101”, their debut single, “Whose it Gonna be?” charted at number 1 and the album was certified Gold. The group went on to tour successfully with notable performers such as Alicia Keys, P. Diddy, Usher and Atomic Kitten.

Named choreographer for the Popstars 2010 E-TV show, Kurt choreographed winning group 'Nne-Vida’s' album launch and debut music video "Back-Up".
Kurt also co-wrote two of the songs featured on the Nne-Vida album. -
Kurt hosted and choreographed the well known reality dance competition “Dance 2 Fame” for Nu Metro Cinemas and LG Mobile.
He also co-choreographed Jamali's music video, "Marching to Mzanzi" featuring the winning group 'Artistic Intelligence'. -
Kurt amalgamated with Emperors Palace, Sun City and Carnival City to produce the highly successful R’nB / Pop show “Ovation”, cabaret show “Broadway”, 10th Anniversary show "Jubilee, Musical "Let There Be Rock", Rock show "Rock2The Beat", "Adrenalin", Movie theme show "The Reel Thing" to name a few.

In 2010, the PSL Awards Spectacular invited Kurt for a highlighted performance in a Michael Jackson Tribute beamed live to 12 million viewers on DSTV.

Since 2007, Kurt has been associated with South African Idols as a backing vocalist under the musical direction of renowned musician Johan Laas.
